I am decended through his son Russell. I have conflicting records regarding his first wife. Our family records say her name was Ellen (or Helen) Russell. Other records I've seen say it was Sally Russell. I've also seen conflicting dates for his date of birth. I would like to hear from anyone who has definate information about these things, as well as about Israel's parents or where he was born.

My g-grandmother was Ethelda Rachel SWEAT ROBERTS, the youngest daughter. I don't remember if I have talked with you before or not, my hard-drive crashed and I have lost a lot of e-mail addresses. I had my databases backed up to a CD, but not my address list. Which of Hiram's children is your line. I have been in contact with several other "cousins" and would love to share info. I am toying with the idea of a SWEAT get-together some time maybe this summer of fall. I have been trying to identify a lot of old pictures so that I can scan and store them on CDs. That way we all can share photos and make prints when we want. My g-aunt, Etta ROBERTS HOPSON, was active in tracing the SWEAT side of the family and she labeled a lot of the photos while my g-grandmother was alive and could remember who the subjects were, however she didn't get all of them done. Look forward to sharing any info with you, would you be interested in a SWEAT family gathering, I don't know where you live, I live in Luther, Oklahoma and go through Arcadia every day on my way to work. After WW Tuten, Gertrude married someone named Carter and died in 1944. Before she died, she lived in Ware county with her daughter Nellie and Nellie's husband Thomas Buchanon. Nellie had one child, Florence, with a "smith" father, and tons of other kids with Tom Buchanon.

Hi, How do you know that your Gertrude was Cherokee? When did she die? Do you know where she was buried?Did she have a daughter named Isabell? Did she have another husband? Families were from Missouri, moved to Nebraska then to Washington and Oregon area. Almina Ann SWEAT (1858-1934) married Franklin Pierce WAGNER (1853-1938) married March 11, 1875, DeKalb Co. Missouri. Sophronia B. Sweat (1862-1899) married William Martin WAGNER (1954-1936) married ca. 1878. Both Franklin & William are sons of Solomon WAGNER & Angelina MAPLE. Almina & Sophronia are daughters of Russell SWEAT & Mahuldah/Huldah SHELMAN. I am trying to identify some very old photos and records and I would like to know if the family has any to compare.
