Hello Swartwood researchers, I'm new at this and have never been on a list before so do not know exactly what to expect. I am hoping that this might solve the dilemma that I find myself in regarding my researches of the Swartwout family. My family joins the Swartwout line with: Orrin Pratt b. 1812, PA / Susan Chesley b. 1832 PA > Elisabeth Shafer b. 1790, PA / Simon Chesley b. 1764, NY >John Adam Shafer b. 1754, NJ / Elisabeth Swartwood b. 1768 , PA > Thomas Swartwood b. (1730 ). NY / Elisabeth Ennis b. bef. 24 Aug 1735, NY >>>>>? When I look on the internet for direction, I find that some researchers go back through Bernardus Swartwout and Margaret Decker while others say Bernardus Swartwout and Rachael Schepmoes. Because of these discrepancies, I have contacted individual researchers. One who favors Decker is attempting to compile evidence yet I have not heard anything definitive as the proving is evidently a very time consuming effort.. Another says she will see, but I have heard nothing further. Is there a researcher within the family who already has the proofs in place that can help me on this issue?
