I am looking for any relatives of a Samuel YOUNG that said that he served under Col Campbell at the battle of King's Mountain. He did a short hitch with the Northumberland Co PA malitia in 1778 and then he said that he moved to Montgomery co VA where he served 2 three month hitches with Campbell. I have found no YOUNGs in Montgomery co but there were some in Washington co. Since he was only 18 years old when he moved to VA I am guessing that he moved with family. He was in nearby Rowan co NC in 1782 so he did not stay long but probably left his family behind. Thanks J. Ray Young
