Died, Oct 21, 1918 Buried, Nov 25, 1918. Beech Creek Baptist Church Cemetary, Hawkins Co. Tn. Military: July 11, 1861 joined the 29th. NC Infantry C.S.A War Pension: Oct 24, 1914 Carter Co. TN (where he lived) filed for soilders pension in TN. His war pension application states: Born in Yancey Co. NC about 1842. I know he has at least one sibbling, a brother Samuel. Military: Joined Co K 58th NC Inf. May 19, 1862 Born in Mitchell Co. NC. abt. 1824? Stayed in Mitchell Co NC until about 1895, then moved to Carter Co. TN. Their parents may have been Samuel & Catherine (Fopson or Hopson, but unsure on both) This is where I am stuck. OR, if someone is from that part of the state, direct me where I would find the best information. Any help at all will be greatly appreciated, been stuch at this point for a year now.
