Any information on the Margaret (Peggy)Taylor and William Patton MARTIN family would be greatly appreciated. Their daughter Sarah Jane was my great grandmother. I have a copy of a marriage license dated Oct. 26, 1876 for her marriage to Philip M. Driver. It was performed at the home of Catherine Taylor in Russell County. I think Catherine may have been an aunt to Sarah Jane. There are photos at the Library of Virginia Site, one of which has the children of Patton Martin pictured including Jane Driver. There are also two photos of Patton and Peggy Taylor Martin cabin located at the end of Paint Lick Mountain. My grandmother, Mary Margaret Martin was born in 1968. Who was her father? 1850 and 1860 Russell County Census has Sarah Jane listed as a child. Also pictured in the photo is Fred Martin, son of Andrew and Mary Ferrell. The date of the photo is not listed but comparing the appearance of Sarah Jane with photos I have of her, I estimate the photo to have been taken 1920/30. Robert Crabtree [email protected]
