Sue, I don't know if you'll be anywhere near Lebanon, Va., but last year I stayede for a week at the Super 8 there. It was brand new, with in room safes, coin laundry and continental breakfast, and it was about a mile from a Walmart. I was alone and felt very safe. It is convenient to the Russell Co. Library and Courthouse if you have any research to do there. I can't remember exactly what I paid, but I think around $50/night. Check the web for Super 8 Motel at Lebanon, Va. if you're interested.
