Thanks, The thing that got me started is a book by Patricia Givens Johnson called "William Preston and the Allegheny Patriots". It quotes extensively from the William Preston papers. The Havens/Harman marriage is interesting as I have both in my family. However, it appears that they were from Tazewell County, and I have nothing on Haven/Harman families in that area. The John D(avidson?) Haven appears to be a son of Howard Haven and Martha Davidson.
