Volks, The Stuart Land and Cattle company of Elk Garden, Russell Co., VA had a large farm in the 1940-50. It was operated by Harry Stuart, descendant of J.E.B. Stuart, and governor of VA. They employed many foreman and farmhands. There was an annual gathering where awards were presented. I have a picture of one of the meetings. I recently obtained the names of the men in the pic.
