Well, I have been poking around and found myself a new Canter, like I already didn't have enough trouble fitting these people together, LOL. This one I believe to be a brother to my grandpa. Now grandpa has a mother named Mary Canter, d/o William Canter & Elizabeth Perrigan, but NO BODY KNOWS grandpa's daddy, hummm. Mary Canter, and some unknown man or men had 3 children, my grandpa, Martin Canter, who married Eliza Canter, d/o William H. Canter & Mary Ann Whittaker, ( 1st cousin marriage).Laura Canter who married a Frank Black, and now this Joseph Canter, who married Lucy Thomas. Could you fine people out there look in your resource books for a DADDY for these 3, or see if one of them list a daddy on a marriage record, or a birth record has a daddy listed? Also found 3 children for Joseph & Lucy, anything can be found about them? Their names were: Eva Canter, Emory Canter, & Joseph Canter. Lucy Thomas had 3 brothers I think, Mance Field, Chesterfield, & William, but I do not know her parents names. Oh, dates for Joseph Canter & Lucy born about 1864, And they never make it easy for me, no other clues except Mary the mother of Joseph born between 1840-1850. Any info appreciated! Many Thanks.
