    1. [SW_VA] 1871 Southern Claims Images
    2. WARNING: This does not pertain directly to NC nor any specific county or surname!! Since I had the copies of the complete 1871 Digest of Disallowed Claims of the Southern Claims Commission, I scanned those pages this weekend rather than doing the NC 1878 & 1879 images. The 1871 Digests consists of claims from the following states: AL, AR (3), GA, MS, NC, SC, TN, & VA There are also claimants and witnesses from NY, NJ, & PA as well as one ship's captain who's state was unidentified. I have only put a master index up so far which is sorted by Surname, Given Name, and State. Shortly I will place a main index page link for all things pertaining to the Southern Claims Commission, but this will do in the short run. I am up in the air regarding copying and scanning the years 1872-1879 for the remaining states. That will depend upon time and if I have a few extra bucks in my pocket as the files get thicker <grin> The URL for the site is: [ http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~familyinformation/ ] Copy and paste the above URL between the brackets. The Master Index is under NEW. Best of wishes, Billy P.S. Anyone has my permission in advance to forward this to others who may be interested.

    3. I am sure I have missed some emails - what do these "Disallowed Claims" pertain to? Claims for what? Thanks.
