Volks, The dates cited in association with the "forbidden to remarry" reminded me of a pattern that I saw in my research. I have found a pattern of divorce and "base born" children during the time of the Civil War. 1855-1868 . The only two illegitimates in my direction live were two years apart. Both around 1860. It would not be a surprised that there was fooling around and family breaking up during a very turbulent time like a civil war. But mine could have been coincidents.
