Hello to the list, I'm interested in an area in Wythe, CO. VA., known as Piney. Could anyone give me driving directions to Piney from Ivanhoe,VA. or Wytheville,VA, which ever is nearest, so that I could located Piney on a road map. I would also appreciate any history on that area that anyone might care to share. Thank you, John Murnan

This is the only Piney anything in Wythe Co. that I found on the USGS's GNIS mapping site, but there is mention in a couple of online obits of a Piney Community somewhere there. NO directions or road names, I'm afraid. Feature Name: Piney Mountain Feature Type: summit Elevation (feet): 2892 State: Virginia County: Wythe USGS 7.5' x 7.5' Map: Long Spur 370348N 0805549W It appears on their map to be about 7-8 mi. due west of Pulaski, or a mile or two farther to the northeast of Wytheville.
