My grandmother, Sarah Louise Tatum Harris of Tazewell Co., thought that a laxative would cure anything. So we took laxatives for colds, tooth aches, headaches, anything and everything. I had forgotten all about this until this thread began. ~~ Does anyone else remember having corn meal gravy instead of flour gravy? We ate ours with fried corn bread cakes.
