We lived in Illinois when I was young and mother would give us cod liver oil. She told us it was because we didn't have enough sunshine. Boy were we gullible. We ate lots and lots of carrots because it gave us good eyesight. <grin> I remember telling my children the same thing, now I tell my grandchildren and my great grandchildren.
