Volks, I was in Big Stone Gap for a Fleenor genealogy meeting this weekend. We drove across Black Mtn. in to Ky. Down to Harlen, KY. I heard some great stories of the bushwacking, murders, hangings, and ghost. The Civil War continued there until about 1900. There were many old grudges to settle. If you have any stories of those times. Pls post. I heard that one could not drive a car w/ VA tags into Harlen circa 1920. The trees were absolutely beautiful. I have never seen better.
