Eddie, The Creeper trail is a rails to trails biking, hiking and horse trail which runs from Abingdon to the NC line by way of Whitetop Station. It is 34 miles long. It begins in Abingdon, Va. near the approximate location of Blacks Fort. The fort was located near the Greensprings Road and the main NW railroad. Five hundred people gathered for the building of Blacks Fort. I believe there was a spring inside the fort for drinking water when people had to seek safety from the Indians there. G.
