This fort is located in the upper end of Washington County not far from the town of Glade Spring. According to some legends, the inhabitants of the fort were involved in at least one major skirmish. David Snodgrass (father of Colonel William and Major James) built the fort. The fort has been lived in for most of the time since its beginning. Its current owners have done of restoration work to preserve the original appearance. Last winter, the fort was on a historical tour of the county.
