I just recently was given a letter that was written by my maternal Gmother, Grace Lemons Blevins. It was from Vicco, VA (in Little Tom Hollow at Banner, VA) and dated Oct. 21, 1918. She wrote that there was so much sickness that the (coal)mines were about to shut down because there were not enough men to work them. She had seen the Doctor and he said she had the flu. She died a few days later at the age of 33, leaving 4 small children. I would like to have the letter restored as parts of it has faded. Any suggestions?
