Howdy the list; Well someone didn't do their job, which is natural when it comes to the Feds. Left out of the cemetery list is that of the Whitaker Family, on Whitaker Ridge. A lot of the Whitaker descendents have ancestors buried there. Shame-shame. And of course the Burke Family Cemetery at Jewell Ridge. It was opened with the burial of James Burk, d. 1888 and the last is that of Rebecca Mitchell Burke, d. 1941. This cemetery is located on road 621, just east of the old UMWofA Union Hall. The only excuse the Feds had for missing these two important small cemeteries is that the Whitaker Family Cemetery is densely overgrown and the Burke Family Cemetery was just within the past 10 years recovered from the wilderness. These errors probably are just a small portion of unknown, unmarked cemeteries in the county. Folks, I have a list of the persons buried in the Burke Cemetery. The Rootsweb folks bounced my message when I added it into the text of this response. Any one interested should contact me directly at the above address. David. M. Burke deburgh@scescape.net
