One of my maternal ggrandmothers was Virginia Robinette of Bland County. She married Issac Stowers. I believe, but am not at all sure, that she was a descendant of Samuel Robinette, his son, Daniel, his son, Hiram. (Her oldest son was named Hiram Robinette Stowers. My grandfather was his brother, Steward Frazier Stowers.) Who were Virginia's grandparents and parents? I was told, by one of her granddaughters, Mamie Stowers, that Virginia Robinette's ancestral home was a big brick house and where it stood. I believe I know where that house was, at the intersection of two roads. We used to pass it when we traveled from Burke's Garden, across Round Mountain, "across Laurel", and on to Interstate77. Is that the Laurel Road? The house looked as if it had burned, and it was torn down a few years ago. Does anyone know if this was Virginia's home? I am also very interested in any research that has been done on the Robinette- Cherokee genealogy. I recently had wonderful response from a very kind and helpful person who gave me so much great material on another branch of my family. I am a native of Burke's Garden, Tazewell County, but live far away. I try to get home once a year, but never have enough time for research. I will be so grateful for any and all help with my Robinettes. Elizabeth Ann Fox Martin
