    1. Re: [SW_VA] (Fwd) Sheriff Logan
    2. Genie
    3. This is the closest I could come. A Charles Logan was the first sheriff of Christian Co., KY in 1797-98. Since Sheriff is also a given name, I looked for that too, but found no Logans. The following Logans are in the 1810 VA census index in Washington Co., VA: James, James Jr., and Robert. In 1820: Andrew, John, William S., and Robert. By 1870, there were 16 Logans in the county, all in Abingdon or Glade Spring Twp. There were no Stapletons listed in 1810, 1820 or 1870 index in the county, but they may have been there in 1790 and 1800 (I don't have an index for those years for VA). --- "Edgar A. The URL for the Historical CD you asked about is: http://www.mounet.com/~echo/ppp.htm There is also a Free timeline at the bottom (the CD's Timeline is much larger and more detailed, but you might find it interesting.) Happy writing. Danny

Since Yahoo only allows enough space for 1 - 2 pictures as attachments, it would be easier for you to navigate to www.scarlet.org (then click on the Tourism Button - behind which you will find many pictures from across the S.W. Va. region). You might also be interested in the Free Historical Timeline of the area available at: http://www.mounet.com/~echo/ppp.htm Hope this helps in your quest to discover more about our beautiful area and remarkable ancestors.
