Published in the Emporia, KS - Gazette 2002-5-14 Mary K Kubin MANHATTAN Former Emporia and Olpe resident Mary K. Kubin, 52, of Manhattan, died May 12, 2002, at Mercy Health Center in Manhattan after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Kubin taught in the Manhattan Baptist Temple Christian School for many years. She lived in the Emporia and Olpe areas for several years before she moved to Manhattan in 1977. Mary K. Sutton, the daughter of James L. and Deloris M. Fanning Sutton, was born Aug. 14, 1949, at Ottawa. She grew up in Waverly, where she attended school and graduated from Waverly High School. She married Dean E. Kubin on Nov. 5, 1969, at Emporia. Mrs. Kubin was a member of the Manhattan Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband; a son, Robert D. Kubin of Manhattan; two daughters, Shari L. Catlin and Kendra D. Kubin, both of Springfield, Mo.; four brothers, Leon J. Sutton of Waverly, Gerald McNulty of Lebo, James Dvorak of Wichita and Kenneth D. Sutton of O'Fa1lon, Mo.; two sisters, Therese Deaner of Waverly and Reva J. Vsetecka of Great Bend; and two grandchildren. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Manhattan Baptist Church. Burial will be in Sunrise Cemetery at Manhattan. The family will meet friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions to the Mary K.
