Published in the Binghamton, NY - Press & Sun-Bulletin 2002-4-4 Rachel Sutton Hall of Corning, NY Rachel E Sutton Hall, 81, of 20 Speer Dr., died unexpectedly in an automobile accident, MOnday, April1, 2002. She was born April 19, 1920 in Herrick Center, Pa., the daughter of the late William O and Bertha Oakley Perrington. She attended New Milford High School in Pa. and relocated to the Corning area in 1942. Rachel and Clifford M Sutton were married in Susquehanna, Pa. He predeceased her on July 5, 1980. Her second marriage was with John R Hall, February 5, 1982 in St Patrick's Church, Corning. He died unexpectedly in the same automobile accident on Monday, April 1, 2002. She was a retired employee of Corning, Inc., working as an Inspector/Packer and a Planner in the Planning Dept., when she retired with 50+ years of service with the company. Rachel attended All Saints Parish. She truly loved others and life, loved traveling, dining out and was ready to shop in a minutes notice. She enjoyed flowers and growing plants. She is survived by her son, William H (Anita) Sutton, Big Flats, NY; and daughter Sheila (William) Spak, Elmira, NY.; stepson, John J (Patrice) Hall, Corning; and stepdaughter, Maureen (James) McCoy, Moscow, Pa.; and step son-in-law, Thomas Wilsoncroft, Corning, NY.; three grandchildren, Deborah (Gary) Baccile, William Christopher (Sherry) Sutton, Clifford (Amy) Sutton; seven great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren; great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins; sisters-in-law, Alice Eldred, Montrose, Pa., Marion Nye, Friendsville, Pa., and Eva Sutton, New Milford, Pa.. She was predeceased by a grandchild, Amy Marie Spak; step-daughter, Diane Wilsoncroft; brothers-in-law, Gaylord Sutton, Wallace Sutton, Charles Nye and Lester Eldred; and sister-in-law, Leonia Sutton. Friends may call at the Haughey Funeral Home, 216 E First St., Corning, NY, Friday, April 5, 2002 from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St Mary's Church Saturday, April 6, 2002 at 8:30 am. A committal service and interment will folow Saturday at 2:30 pm at the family plot at Lamb Cemetery, Jackson, Pa.
