A brief explanation is in order because the list is constantly changing and some subscribers will not know what I am talking about. This list was started by Milo Sutton even before Rootsweb came into existence. A few years ago, Milo was diagnosed with an incurable cancer (Multiple Myeloma) which severely limited his actives, including running this list. In addition to this, he also has many other problems, all of which are serious. For the past six months or so they have changed Milo’s medications from chemotherapy to thalidomide. Yes, this is the same medication ultimately banned in the 60's because of the side effects. For the same reasons it was banned, it has become a very effective drug to be used against cancer. It attacks fast developing cells, cutting off the blood supply and therefore killing, or at least slowing down the spread of these cells. In the last few weeks Milo has been told his cancer is in remission. As I said before, he has many other, just as serious problems. Just last night he underwent a procedure to place a stint in his artery which was 85% blocked. I am happy to report this to also came out OK and believe it or not, should be home tomorrow. He is also on dialysis and this must continue for the foreseeable future. Over all, he is improving but is by no means out of the woods. Again I will caution, should you send email him (sutton@bnet.org) Don’t expect a reply. He does check his mail periodically but due to pain he doesn’t spend a lot of time on the computer.
