Published in the Baltimore, MD - Sun 2002-5-9 Blanche M. Klingelhofer, 80, homemaker Blanche M. Klingelhofer, a homemaker and former World War II defense worker, died May 2 of cancer at Franklin Square Hospital Center. She was 80. Blanche M. Sutton was born in Harrogate, Tenn., and raised in Big Stone Gap, Va., where she graduated from high school. She moved to Baltimore in 1939 and during World War II helped build airplanes at the former Glenn L. Martin Co. plant in Middle River. She was a longtime Parkville resident and an active member of the Parkville Senior Center. For years, she also attended a daily morning gathering of friends at McDonald's in Parkville. Mrs. Klingelhofer enjoyed crocheting and entertaining her family. Her marriage to Fred Klingelhofer ended in divorce. Plans for services were incomplete yesterday. Mrs. Klingelhofer is survived by a daughter, Patricia A. Purdy of Perry Hall; a sister, Ruby Fleenor of Kingsport, Tenn.; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. -- Danny & Nancy Clemmer www.clemmer.org
