Published in the Massillon, OH - Independent April 28, 2002 Virginia Smith Virginia Smith, 88, of Louisville, formerly of Massillon, died Saturday April 27, 2002 in St. Joseph Care Center in Louisville, where she had been a resident since 1994. Born May 4, 1913, in Kilgore, she was a daughter of Thomas and Florence (Miller) Sutton. She lived most of her life in the Massillon area and had been a secretary with Reutz Insurance in Massillon and was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Peace Circle and United Methodist Women. She taught Sunday school for 50 years and also volunteered with the Red Cross Blood Bank. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth R Smith, who died in 1984. Survivors include one son, Ken "Bob" Smith, of Louisville; two sisters, Eileen Schoener, of Coshocton, and Naomi Crosby, of Damascus, Md.; two brothers, Rev. Clifford Sutton, of Nebraska, and Rev. Thomas Sutton, of Florida; two grandchilden; and four great-grandchildren. The funeral is at 11 a.m. Monday in the Atkinson-Feucht-Shaidnagle Funeral Home in Massillon with Rev. Don A. Deremer officiating. Burial is in Sunset Hills Burial Park. Friends may call one hour before the service.
