    3. Hi Julie, I exchanged emails with you years ago, I am not of your line but I am from another Texas line. My great grandfather Samuel Houston Sutton of Medina, Bandera, Texas, drove cattle herds down to the coast way back when. It is rumored in the family that he was in contact with your Sutton familyback then. Anyway, a long time ago, I am not sure of dates but was told back in the 1940's range there was a newspaper article stating there was a Sutton Inheritance to be claimed of a Lord George Sutton and several Sutton families tried to make claim but did not come up with the papers in time. Just for the sake of old family tales I would like to get a copy of that newspaper article. Have you ever seen it? Thanks so much, Gale Sutton White, Texas JF030330@aol.com wrote: I am about to "pack" away my Family History...and probably pass it on to someone in my family. This would be on the Suttons posted earlier on this List. William and Elizabeth Turner Sutton from Beech Grove, TN to TX..settled in Round Top, Fayette County, TX. in 1840...Elizabeth died about a year after arriving...and a few years later...William went back to TN and married Eliza Finley. Cyrene Sutton, daughter of William and Elizabeth Turner Sutton, was my ggrandmother..Cyrene married Robert Hunter. Cyrene was Billy Sutton's aunt... Billy Sutton of the Sutton/Taylor Feud in Texas. This Feud took place in DeWitt County and several surrounding counties. Kit Hunter, Cyrene's son and my Grandfather, took part in that feud with his cousin, Billy Sutton. This is a recap of things I have posted in the past. I have old letters from relatives in Tennessee written to Cyrene in the early 1800's..I have posted some of these on this List.. 3. Hello! My great-great grandfather was George Washington Sutton who started out life in Bienville Parish, Louisiana. Around 1875 he left home to work on a cattle ranch near Conroe, TX. Claimed to have met Sam Bass. He came back to Bienville Parish where he lived until the Depression started, then he moved his children and grandchildren to Harlingen, TX, for about 5 years so they could get jobs, then moved everybody back. I've often wondered about his connection with Texas.
