Thom: I do not have the information you need but am amazed at the John and Thomas names in the Sutton family. My great grandfather from Mississippi was John, his brother was Thomas. Thomas was killed in the battle of Mansfield, Louisiana in Civil War. Probably on April 8th 1864 since his Company with Gen. Gray under Richard Taylor made the first attack on Gen. Banks that day. These names have really spread since then. I was named Charles Irvin Sutton after the two sons born after John returned from Civil War. They died at 17 and 19. One was hit over the head with a club, the other fell from his horse and it broke his neck. John had several older children. One my grandfather. Good Luck Charles Irvin Sutton
Charles: Thanks for thge reply.Since you are from the south, your Suttons probably came from England. It seems so far as I can see, that theEnglish Protestant Suttons went south, and the Irish Catholics went north. Why that would be stumps me. Hope you find all that you are searching for as well.
