Sheilds-supposedly they both came from Scotland or Ireland. Don"t know if they were married when they came toOntario, Canada or not but 5 children were born from 1857 to 1867. He was in Chicago 1880 census as a widower w/5 children. Haven't been able to find out when or where Mary died-is she in your family?
