I'm sure there are many George Washington Sutton's. My Granduncle is George Washington Sutton but born in the 1850s. His dad fought in Civil War. In the 1800s I find that many people were named after great men. My GGG Grandfather Levi Lawler and his son Isaac Lawler fought under Andrew Jackson in the Creek Indian war in what is now Alabama. Also along was Sam Houston and Davey Crockett. The Houston has come down through the family since that time and is still being used in the young ones.
