Unless your relatives were from North or South Dakota, there's little chance they were of Blackfoot ancestory. In fact, if you go to the Blackfoot nation's web-site, the first thing they will advise you is this...when a child was born as a result of a union between an African American and a member of one of the Five Civilized nations, the offspring was called "a blackfoot". My suggestion is to check into what nation lived in the area where you ancestor was from, could be Chactow, Cherokee...or any of the other five nations. A relative being called a "blackfoot" is a very good lead.... chuck sutton
