Published in the Eugene, OR - Register Guard 28 August 2004 WILLIAM SUTTON A memorial service will be held today for William "Bill" Sutton of Bellfountain, formerly of Cottage Grove, who died Aug. 22 of complications from brain cancer. He was 65. Sutton was born April 26, 1940, in Red Bluff, Calif., to Clarence and Mary Ishmael Sutton. He married DeAnne Stamps in March 1962. He lived in Tustin, Calif., in Bellfountain for 20 years, and in Cottage Grove for five years. He served in the Marine Corps and worked as a saw filler. He enjoyed fishing, reading, snowmobiling and was a history buff. Survivors include his wife; his mother; three daughters, Debbie Liens of Brookings, Donna Chittenden of Harrisburg and Dena Oakes of Philomath; a son Willie of Bellfountain; four brothers; one sister; and six grandchildren. Today's service will be held at 4 p.m. at 23560 Woods Creek Road in Philomath. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Brain Tumor Society of Walker Rim Riders Snowmobile Club.
