Published in the Kansas City, MO - Star October 11, 2004 Michael "Mike" Wayne Sutton, 43, of Oskaloosa, KS, died Friday, October 8, 2004, at the University of Kansas Medical Center from injuries suffered in a work-related accident earlier in the day in Kansas City, KS. He was born July 19, 1961, at Kansas City, KS, the son of Robert Lee and Phyllis Lorene Roberts Sutton. Mike had lived in Oskaloosa since 1997, moving from Kansas City, KS. Mike worked over 20 years as an Equipment operator and Laborer for the Omega Concrete Systems in Kansas City, KS. He was a 1979 graduate of Wyandotte High School in Kansas City, KS. Mike was an avid Hunter and Fisherman. His Greatest passion was his Children, and Hunting was a close second. His favorite place to be was in a Deer Stand in the Woods or stalking Turkeys. He is survived by his Fiancee, Peggy Hopkins of Kansas City, KS; they were to be married on Saturday, October 9, 2004. He is also survived by his Mother, Phyllis Lorene Sutton, Edwardsville, KS; his four Children, Son, Josh Sutton! , and three Daughters, Jennifer Sutton, Janet Sutton and Julie Sutton, all of the home in Oskaloosa; one Brother, Robert Sutton, Edwardsville, KS; four Sisters, Brenda Garcia, Gladstone, MO, Phyllis Salazar, Kansas City, KS, Cheryl Romo, Edwardsville, KS, and Rebecca Hernandez, Kansas City, KS. He was preceded in death by his Father, Robert Sutton, and a Brother, Darrell G. Sutton. He was married to Larinda Goodwin, they were divorced. Funeral Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Living Water Evangelical Free Church in Oskaloosa. Burial will be at the Ozawkie Cemetery.
