Published in the Spartanburg, SC - Herald-Journal 2004-9-16 PACOLET, SCMrs. Hazel Horne Sutton, 78, of 279 Conly Road, Pacolet, SC, died September 14, 2004 at the home of her sister, Carolyn Smith, 3932 Pacolet Hwy. A native of Cherokee County, she was the widow of Charles Dennis Sutton and a daughter of the late James Furman Horne and the late Matilda Stack Horne. She retired from the Shirt Factory. She was a member of Tate Memorial Baptist Church. Surviving are a son, James Richard Whitlock, of Pacolet; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Carolyn Smith, of Pacolet; brother, Gene Horne, of Pacolet. She was preceded in death by a son, Aaron Whitlock. Visitation will be held 7 to 9 Thursday night, at Shuford-Hatcher Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 17, 2004 at Tate Memorial Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Dennis Tessnier. Interment will be private.
