Published in the Raleigh, NC - News and Observer August 28, 2004 Sara Smithwick Sutton Windsor - Sara Smithwick Sutton, 89, a life long resident of Windsor, NC, died on Thursday, August 26, 2004. She was the daughter of Mary McCartha Smithwick and Alfred Jordan Smithwick. She was preceded in death by her husband, Turner Sutton. She is survived by her son, Turner Bond Sutton and his wife, Abbey and grandchildren, Kemper, Margaret and Ian, all of Raleigh. A graveside funeral service will be held at Edgewood Cemetery at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 28, 2004, by the Rev. Carol Noy. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to the Windsor United Methodist Church, PO Box 238, Windsor, NC 27983 or to the Bertie County Rescue Squad, PO Box 74, Windsor, NC 27983.
