Published in the Rock Hill, SC - Herald August 4, 2004 Minnie Sutton FORT MILL -- Mrs. Minnie Abernathy Sutton, 91, of 341 N. Sutton Road died Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2004, at home. A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Philadelphia United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Randy Smith officiating. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Park in Rock Hill. A native of Charlotte, Mrs. Sutton was a daughter of the late John W. Abernathy and Marie Latham Abernathy. She was retired from Springs Industries. She was a member of Philadelphia United Methodist Church, where she was active in its senior citizens group. She also was a member of the Fort Mill Senior Citizens Group. She was the widow of James W. Sutton Sr. Surviving are two daughters, Alice Sumner of Fort Mill and Joyce Sutton of the home; her son, James W. "Billy" Sutton of Fort Mill; three granddaughters; and five great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at the church and other times at home.
