Published in the San Antonio, TX - Express News 2002-5-31 Barbara Ruth Sutton, born February 8, 1917 in San Marcos, TX died on May 28, 2002 in San Antonio. She had been a faithful member of Madison Square Presbyterian Church since the 1040s and , although her health had prevented her attendance in recent years, served that congregation at various times as a Sunday school teacher and as a shepherd, visiting ans assisting others. She was also a longtime employee of the Department of Human Services, retiring in 1982. Mrs. Sutton was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Raysor Sutton and is survived by their five children, Carol Mireles of Clear Lake City, TX, Barbara Boyd and her husband William of Kerrville, TX, William R. Sutton of San Antonio, Judith Duke of Universal City, TX and James R Sutton of New York, NY. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, James R Mireles and his wife sheryl, Kathryn Mireles, Rebecca Mireless, Rachel Santilli and her husband James, Garrett Duke, Meredith Borrego and six, soon to be eight great-grandchildren. Visitation; 6:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M., Thursday at the funeral home. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Friday, May 31, 2002 at Sunset Funeral Home.
