Until about his fifteenth year he lived in Mansfield , and then removed to New Milford, Connecticut , where he purchased land, afterward very considerably increasing his possessions in that place and vicinity. He was an elder in the strict Congregational church. He married, May 10, 1736 , Zeruiah Abbey .
