I've noticed you claim Harriet Jane Doty-Sutton-Robinson as your great-grandmother. This probably makes us about 4th cousins, once removed. I'm descended from Jacob Sutton & Abigail Doty (daughter of John Doty & Elizabeth Wilson). As far as I can tell, most of the Suttons in White River Twp are descended from 2 brothers; Jacob (1802-1882) and Isaac (1805-1869), sons of James Sutton & Elizabeth Bell of Ohio. The Dotys are a little harder to sort out. It looks like Joshua Doty (1801-1870) and John Doty (1777-1856) arrived in White River Twp independently. They are 3rd cousins, once removed; but I wonder if they knew one another or knew of their relationship. Do you have any information on how these families camr to be in Johnson County? I'm working real hard on sorting out the Suttons & Dotys, using primarily census and cemetery records. I would love to swap information with you somewhere along the line.
