Published in the Mt Vernon, WA - Skagit Valley Herald 06/11/02 MICHAEL E. SUTTON Michael E. Sutton, a lifelong Skagit Valley resident, passed away unexpectedly at Skagit Valley Hospital in Mount Vernon on Sunday June 9, 2002. He was 40 years of age. Michael was born in Mount Vernon, WA on December 9, 1961, a son of Ervin & Delores (Dee) Sanders Sutton. He was raised at Punkin Center near Hamilton and attended grade school in Lyman and Hamilton. He also attended Sedro-Woolley High School. Mike was a heavy equipment operator in the logging and construction industries, operating cats and backhoes and driving trucks for several years. He worked in many areas throughout Washington and Alaska. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, camping and panning for gold. Mike was united in marriage to Tina Pitman in 1992 and they made their home in Lyman. He is survived by his wife Tina and son Eli at the family home in Lyman; his parents, Ervin & Dee Sutton of Punkin Center; 2 half-brothers, Keith Murphy and Kenneth Murphy & his wife Gail all of Lenore, NC; 2 half-sisters, Patty Scruggs in California and Lori Love in Tennessee; 2 special nieces, Tishinia & Sophia Sutton and numerous other nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his brother, Rocky Sutton in 1998. The family suggests memorials be made to the trust fund designated for his son Eli at any Skagit State Bank. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, June 12, 2002 at 3:30 PM at the Hamilton Cemetery. Mr. Phil Mitchell will officiate. Arrangements under direction of Lemley Chapel, Sedro-Woolley.
