Published in the Bellevue, WA - Eastside Journal 2002-2-21 James E MONROE of Samamamish died Feb. 17, 2002, at his home. He was 53. Mr. Monroe was born Sept. 28, 1948, in Kansas City, MO. He grew up in California and graduated from Los Angeles High School and the University of San Francisco. Mr. Monroe served with the Marines. In 1984 he married Kerry SUTTON in Carmel, Calif. He was employed by 3M, Mericel, Deloitte & Touche, Microsoft and Hewlett Packard as a computer comsultant. He and his wife moved to Sammamish in 1993. He enjoyed playing chess, skiing, jogging, travel and tennis. Mr. Monroe was a member of Calvary Chapel Eastside Church. According to his family, he was known for his sense of humor, his faithfulness and his loyalty and honesty. In addition to his wife, survivors include his children, Brengen, Mariana and Micah, of Sammamish; sister Linda J. CLINTOM of Tacoma and his mother, Marion MONROE of Los Angeles. A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday at the Pine Lake Covenant Church, 1715 228th Ave. S.E.; Sammamish.
