Speaking of western NY Suttons: <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> In decades after the Revolution, a number of interrelated families moved from northern <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />New Jersey to western New York. One may have been my ancestor, William Sutton (b.~ 1760), reportedly married to Mary Fancher, both of the Randolph-Mendham- Roxbury area of Morris County. He may have been the son of Amos Sutton & Jane Clawson of the Bedminster-Bernards area of adjoining Somerset County. He is probably the William Sutton listed in 1810 & 1820 censuses of Wayne, Steuben County, NY. I am searching for proofs of the above relationships. Robert Smith reported that the genealogy records of Mary ? of Morris County showed the Wm. Sutton/Mary Fancher marriage, but I have lost Mary’s last name, and have been unable to locate further information on her genealogy. Robert, are you still on the list? Regards, Caroline
