I am looking for info on William Sutton who married Ypsilanti Gates in mercer Co. IL, 1858. In 1850 he is in IA living in the same house as Jala and family(also Polly, 17 a sister?), and in 1860 they are in Henderson Co., IL near each other. Jala is probably a brother, but I have very little info other than William was born in PA and Jala in NJ. Jala married Julia Sutton in Warren Co., IL. There was a Nathan Sutton in the same area, same time, but I have no info on him. He is in Warren in 1840, but gone by 1850. William probably had a wife before Ypsilanti, they have a 4 year old Mary J, in the 1860 census. Most of the children of William and Ypsilanti stay in Mercer IL area, daughters Mary and Josephine vanish after 1870. Although I can't locate the family in the 1880 census, they aren't in Mercer and I can't find them in Henderson Co., But Ypsilanti died in Henderson in 1893 and is buried there, and some of the children married in the area in the late 1880's.
