Published in the Champaign, IL - News-Gazette 7/29/02 RANTOUL -- William B. Sutton Sr., 71, of Rantoul died Saturday (July 27, 2002) at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Lux Memorial Chapel, 1551 E. Grove Ave., Rantoul. The Rev. Stanley Malinowski will officiate. There will be no burial. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. Sutton was born June 25, 1931, at Sherwood, Tenn., a son of William and Margaret Smith Sutton. He married Ann Broe in June 1975 in Tennessee. She survives. Also surviving are two sons, Michael Moreland of Rantoul and William Sutton Jr. of Hoopeston; four daughters, Elizabeth Brown, Heather Yates and Deborah Shaffer, all of Rantoul, and Anne Chesley of Columbia, Mo.; 15 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, J. B. Sutton of Winchester, Tenn., and Roy Sutton of Piedmont, Ala.; and three sisters, Pearlie Cather of Hobart, Ind., Hazel Gass of Cowen, Tenn., and Mary Ruth Spencer of Winchester, Tenn. He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. Mr. Sutton worked at the Village of Rantoul's waste-water treatment plant for 21 years. He was a member of the Gibson City Moose.
