They had a daughter Lucy and a daughter named Ann S.(?). They were in Lauderdale County, TN in the 1850 census. There is no Betty, but maybe she already left the home at this time. Lucy was 23 and Ann was 18 in the 1850 census. Both girls were born in Va. Thank you so much for responding to my query. Genealogy folks are just so much fun -- and so nice to share information!! The below could be Anna's parents, except that Anna was born 1830 and it looks like this Norborne Sutton was born 1822 -- unless I'm reading this incorrectly, which is entirely possible. Maybe Ann was Ann Elizabeth and they called her Betty as a nickname? We always were told Anna was born in Virginia. Do you know any other information about them -- like their profession, etc.? Who was the first Sutton in Anna's direct anecestry to come to America? Are there any published (self-published or otherwise) books, booklets on this family line that I could acquire? Yeah, I'm full of questions and want to know more, more, more about this line of my family. It is pretty much a blank for us. My other family lines are all traced back to the "home" country and I'd love to do that with the Sutton line. I'm just sorry that Anna died so young so that our Sutton acquaintance was brief. (I think my grandmother said that her father said he never knew any of his mother's people.) I really would like to find out about her siblings' descendants. Do you have that info? I'm glad that we know where she is buried because she is so far (for that time period) from her family. If I go to Lauderale Co., would I be able to find much information about the Suttons there? If so, would that be at the library, a museum, or maybe a genealogy room? What other counties or towns or communities are important to this Sutton history?
