    3. DETECTIVE SUTTON IS DEAD Leavenworth Times June 11, 1898 Suffered from injuries received several years ago. Ex- City Detective George S. Sutton died at his residence 507 Ottawa Street at 2o'clock yesterday afternoon. Mr. Sutton was fifty five years of age and has been a resident of this city about twenty years. He leaves his widow and three children. two boys and one girl. Henry Sutton the oldest and a son from his first wife is an employee of the electric road. Mr. Sutton was a member of American Lodge No. 122; A. O. U. W. and leaves $4000.00 insurance. He was a member of the police force for nearly 15 years and in attempting to arrest a soldier several years ago, he was hit on the side of the head with a rock. This wound did not trouble him until several months ago when he was taken down with an attack of the brain fever from which he never recovered. He was taken to the state asylum February 8, but brought home two weeks ago. The funeral will be held Sunday at 2 o'clock from the residence 505 Ottawa Street. Dr. Bright will conduct the service at the residence and the Woodmen at the grave. Burial was in Mt. Muncie Cemetery, Leavenworth, Kansas. His death date was June 10, 1898 and Emma was Dec 26, 1899 Would like to document first wife and family. Any information in regards to George S.
