Published in the Jonesboro, AR - Sun 2004-10-27 MONETTE -- Funeral services for Leta May Groomes, 95, of Monette, who died Monday, Oct. 25, at Monette Manor, have been scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday at Gregg Funeral Home chapel in Monette. The Rev. Captain Lovell will officiate, and burial will follow in Monette Cemetery. John Pasmore and David Melville will serve as active pallbearers. Deacons of First Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers. Born at Poplar Bluff, Mo., she had lived in Monette for 38 years and was formerly of the Childress community. She was a homemaker and a member of a Homemakers Extension Club and Monette First Baptist Church, where she was active in the women's mission group. She had no immediate survivors. She was preceded in death by her husband, Grover C. Groomes; her parents, Francis Marion and Stella Wisecarver Sutton; and two sisters.
