Surnames: Wright, Sutton, Munday, Thompson Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/wkQBAIB/3210.1.1.1 Message Board Post: Hi Fred, I think I got the road wrong - that was where the Wrights lived. I just checked one of my emails I received the other week and this is an excerpt from it (it's from Greg who is a flying doctor in Australia) This is what he says (talking to me): 'First of all, your grandmother, Betsey (Wright) lived at the same address as my ggrandfather x2 (Mark Benham Sutton), 32 Waterloo Road. This was the address in the 1871 census for Mark Sutton and his spouse Sophia (Wright), as well as their children, Julia, Jane, Marsha and Mark B (My great grandfather). Since Betsey was born 22 years after Mark and his family left Britain for Australia I assume that her father was Sophia’s younger brother, Charles. In other words, Betsey was My Great Grandmother’s x2 niece.' So it was Waterloo Road not Marks Road. Mark Benham Sutton was born 1845, his son born 1871. Mark jnr. had sisters Julia (1864), Jane (1867) and Martha (1869) - all born Romford. Then the family emigrated and William, Elizabeth, Mary and James were all born in the 1700s in New South Wales, Australia. So...any connections now? Let me know. I have the full tree here and photos if they are part of your family. Best wishes Diana

Marks Road, Romford, is literally just around the corner to where my Sutton's lived and they could very easily have been related somehow. The name of Mark Benham does not "ring any bells", but having said this could you please let me have some more info on him,if you have it. i.e. date of birth of Mark Benham, the year he lived there, the year he emigrated, perhaps his fathers name or any brothers and sisters. In fact any info, so I can compare. If there is any connection, I will gladly swap info with you. Regards, Fred Hines. England

Seeking info on Arthur Sutton. Arthur was thought to have been a West Indian. Arthur married Afro -American Laura Henry Chandler in 1941, in New York, and they had one daughter. Arthur is thought to have died about 1951. I can find no record of him in the US Census. Thanks in advance, Larry My email address is: lchand3835@cox.net. ==================================== In HALIFAX COUNTY, Va. seeking Afro-American Brown Byrd Chandler Chappell Lacy Younger.

Greetings! I have just published my Sutton research online at: http://mywebpages.comcast.net/dghewett/ancestry.html My ancestor was George Russell Sutton who came from England to New York and settled in Hemmingford, Quebec sometime around 1840. He was run over by an ox cart at about 56 years of age. I hope that someone will be able to make a connection! Please let me know if any of my research connects with yours. I would be pleased to meet a cousin! Sincerely, Candie Sutton Hewett
