My gt gt grandparents were William SUTTON and Hannah nee RATHBONE, of the Millstone Inn, Frodsham. They both died young (in 1840 and 1847), and I have had little success tracing their children after the parents' deaths. The children were: Ellen b 1830 (married J Davies, had the Millstone in 1851) Ann Alice b 1833 (last trace 1851 Census, Chester, in domestic service) James b 1834 (last trace 1841 Census) Emma b 1836 (my gt grandmother, married Edward Massey, Chester 1865) William b 1838 (last trace 1851 census Birmingham, with James Rathbone, uncle) Peter Rathbone (second name) last trace 1841 census). With Hannah and family in 1841 were: Amelia Hopwood, age 13, Charles Hopwood age 8: of course no relationship shown, but both born in Cheshire: any connections? Donald Massey

My grandmother, Laura Virginia Sutton, born 1906; died May 6, 1936, 20 miles out of Ochelata, Okla.. She married Forest B. Goodman. They had one daughter. Josephine Fern Goodman wrote in her small bible... it says that her grandfather's name is "Claude Sutton"... He married Hannah Marr. They were both born in Canada,Ontario. Had land in Southwold. His parents were John Sutton and Cynthia Phillips. I have his up to 1875 and then he is not listed in the 1880 census. Hannah and the children are, but she is listed as married, not widow or divorced. Hannah is buried in Sunset Hills Cemetery, East Jordan, MI and I have the records on her and they have nothing on Peter. There is a plot next to hers and that has been probe and nothing there. If anyone can help, I would appreciate it. I would also like information on Hannah's parents and siblings and also on Cynthia Phillips family. I do have some history of Elgin, Ontario and Peter's grandfather settleing there. Thank you.

Born in Millville, he was a lifelong resident. Prior to retirement, he worked for Armstrong Cork, Kerr Glass, and Foster Forbes as an auto mechanic for 40 years. Mr. Sutton served in the United States Navy during World Warr II as a carpenter's mate in the South Pacific. He was a former member of the Millville Veterans of Foreign Wars and was a current member of the Sea Isle Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mr. Sutton is a life member of the American Legion Nabb-Leslie Post #82 of Millville, and was a former Commander. Mr. Sutton was also a former member of the West Side Methodist Church. He is survived by: his wife, Emma at home; two sons, Charles R. Jr. of Laurel Lake, and Joseph D. of Commercial Township; two daughters, Dorothy Ayars of Millville, and Donna Sutton-Muldowney of Cheltenham, PA. Hello Everyone, I am a new lister, posting a query for the first time.I am researching my husband's family; James Sutton and wife Rosa Caroline, lived in St Marylebone, London circa 1875-1881.
