    3. Oakland Cemetery, Atlanta, Georgia Established in 1850 and covering more than 88 acres east of downtown Atlanta, Oakland Cemetery is the final resting-place for over 50,000 people. This database is a transcription of headstone inscriptions from the cemetery. This update adds nearly 10,000 names to the previously posted data and includes inscriptions from the "Black Section" of the cemetery. Each record provides the name of individual, date of birth and date of death. Between its creation and 1884, nearly all persons who died in the Atlanta area were buried in this cemetery. Additionally, following its creation, other persons were taken from nearby church and family cemeteries and re-interred here . This updated collection contains the names of over 40,000 persons. For researchers of ancestors from the Atlanta area in the nineteenth century, this can be a useful source of valuable information. 1. [SUTTON] Searching Passenger Lists
    2. Liz Boulais
    3. Passing this information along - this site is great. Liz **NEW!** SEARCH ENGINES FOR SHIPS PASSENGER LISTS TO NORTH AMERICA I have begun a new project on Olive Tree Genealogy! Finding ancestors has never been easier! Surnames are at your fingertips with my custom-built Search Engines. These Search Engines will search most FREE Internet pages (including Olive Tree Genealogy) for ships passenger lists to USA & Canada. Search engines have been custom built for the following states: Maryland, Texas, Louisiana, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, New England (includes Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, North & South Carolina, Rhode Island & Vermont) and Texas. The total number of ships to USA you can search from my new search boxes as of today is 4,190. New ships are being added daily so don't despair if you don't find an ancestor the first time. http://olivetreegenealogy.com/ships/search_ships.shtml Total ships you can search for passenger names to New York is currently 2,630. You can still search manually, ship by ship, by going to http://olivetreegenealogy.com/ships/tousa_index.shtml One of the little known online databases for USA ships is found at the NAC (National Archives of Canada) for immigration 1925- 1935. Immigration records, including some border crossings are searchable for the ports of Providence, Rhode Island; Boston, Massachusetts; and New York City, New York. The NAC database for these US ports has a total of 6,293 names and you can now search the database from the Olive Tree Genealogy pages! Total names of passengers on NAC databases for New York is currently 5,921. http://olivetreegenealogy.com/ships/search_ships.shtml As an added benefit, you can also search Rootsweb.com passenger lists - total number of New York records is 6,772. That's a total of over 12,000 names on NAC and Rootsweb searches alone, and doesn't take into account the passengers on 3000 ships searchable from Olive Tree search engines. To search specific ports either list by list or with my new search engines, and to view other databases available for that state, here are the URLs that will take you directly to New York http://olivetreegenealogy.com/ships/tousa_ny.shtml New York Ships Passenger Lists http://olivetreegenealogy.com/nn/ New York Databases
